Final Verdict
The 2020 Toyota Tundra Double Cab has six trims i.e., SR 5, Limited, TDR Pro, Platinum, and the 1794 Edition. While almost all the trims are available with a 5.7-litre V8 engine as a standard engine, the SR 5 has it as an optional upgrade. The SR 5 has a 4.6 Liter V8 as a standard engine and hence a low price of $34,250 which is the lowest among all the trims.
On the other hand, almost trims have a standard Rear Wheel Drive with an ALL Wheel drive as optional, except for the TDR Pro in which the All-Wheel Drive is a standard feature. However, all the trims have a six-speed automatic transmission.

We Recommend
Though Tundra Double Cab comes with good standard options, you can always upgrade your trucks with various options that the Toyota provides you with. For example, you can choose if you want to go for SR5 but want a bit powerful engine, you can choose the 5.7-litre engine to replace its standard 4.6-litre engine. So all we recommend is to be choosy to get optimum output for what you are going to pay.
The Toyota Tundra Double Cab offers you the very powerful 4.6L V8 engine which delivers you a great power of 327 HP. The car comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission while the powertrain of the truck is its USP. The truck can easily tow a weight close to 10,000 pounds and can be used for off-roading every once in a while.
Talking about the power of the truck then it is the most powerful among the competition. The only truck that comes close to it is the RAM 1500 Quad Cab Express 4dr. The power delivery of the truck is close to 305 hp. Although, the thing to note is that the competition hits that power at 6400 rpm while the Tundra gets more at 5600 rpm. This fact alone makes the Tundra the lone ranger in terms of power.

Also, the response of the engine is pretty great. If you start revving it from the bottom this will be the first to hit it maximum speed. The maximum power of the car since hits at 5600 rpm there is no way the truck is going to stuck during off-roading. Also, this fact alone makes it a great truck for towing.
Acceleration
The figures to the acceleration of the truck have not cleared out yet. Although, what you can expect from the car is the fact that it hits it a maximum mark of power at a lower rpm. This fact alone would make it a winner in this segment. Why? The physics is simple with lower rpm you get to see the maximum power making it an ideal candidate making its acceleration best in class. Therefore, no matter what the official figures might come out this is collateral that the Tundra will turn out to be the winner in its segment.

Riding and Handling
The truck has tremendous potential over the roads with the smooth gear shift and the power that comes under the hood. The truck can take you out any particular situation that a truck rider might face. Also, the truck is way smooth in terms of acceleration giving you enough confidence on the highways.
The truck has great steering stability although, the massive size of the truck makes it a little difficult in comparison. Although, it is something that you can’t really complain about the Truck. The turning radius that the truck offers for its size is simply incredible. Overall, the riding and handling of the truck are pretty great.
Braking
The car comes with a curb weight of 5100 lbs which makes it the heaviest truck in its segment. Therefore, the kind of braking that it offers in terms of the figure is really great. Although, if talking about the real world scenarios then also the car offers you tandem of capabilities in this segment.

The braking of the truck is effective enough to stop it at the place where you would like it to be. The 13.9 inches front brakes, as well as the rear 13.6 inches, should truly be applauded for that. Overall, you can say it is among the best feature in the car.
This is probably the only thing where the car loses to its competition drastically. The truck has a mileage of 15 miles per gallon in the city while on the highway it gives you a mileage of 19 miles per gallon. The overall combined mileage of the truck is 16 miles per gallon.

The winner in this segment would be the Ford F-150 Regular cab 2dr. The combined mileage offered by the truck is 22 miles per gallon. The mileage of the trucks heavily lags due to the engine that is fitted inside the hood. Therefore, it is for you to decide whether you want the power or the other part as you got other entries for achieving the same.
The 4.6L V8 engine that comes with this variant has softer spring giving comfort to the rider. You can adjust the seats in 12 different ways as per your choice. The seat of the truck has options of power thigh and lumbar adjustability. You get the option of both heating and ventilating the seats. Although, even with this many options in the truck the comfort offered is only decent.
The seats of the truck are made of perforated stitched leather. The material used is among the best that is being used in the competition. Talking about the space in the front and the rear, you get enough room both in the front as well as for the passengers. You can also easily fit three adults in the rear.

Infotainment System
The infotainment system on the Toyota Tundra Double Cab is not as pleasing as you might expect it to be. It works great but doesn’t really offer anything that’ll surprise you. It is another year and they still haven’t added Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. In spite of that, you are getting the Entune system with a 7-inch touchscreen.
The Entune System on the Toyota is decent although the system may have been more intuitive with the latter two feature. The good part about the Entune is that it works fast. Below we have mentioned some of the optional as well as standard features that come with the truck.
Standard Features:
Optional Features:
Cargo Capacity
The truck offers a cargo volume of 81 cubic feats. It is one department where the truck doesn’t lag as the 8.1-foot bed is there to rescue you. It is a pickup truck so it can be expected that it might provide you with that much space.

If you look at the overall competition then the truck that comes close to it is the Ford F-150 Regular Cab 2dr 6.5ft. It is a great vehicle if you are talking about the cargo space as it is somewhat meant for it.
Towing Capacity
The towing capacity of the truck may be one big thing as it is a towing truck. The truck has the most powerful engine in the category although it fails drastically in front of its competitor. The truck has a towing capacity of 6800 lbs.

The winner in this segment is the RAM 1500 Quad cab Express 4dr which can easily tow weight of around 10340 lbs. Other than that all the competitor in this segment has a heavy hand in comparison to the Toyota Tundra.
The exteriors of the car are a treat to look if you like trucks. The truck feels muscular and has enormous road presence. The front grille takes up the most of the front while the headlights totally complement the overall look. There are lines going from headlight all the way up to the front gates. Also, the bumper of the car looks great. The branding on the front grille of the car makes it look exquisite.
The cargo space at the back of the truck gives the truck the look it wants. Also, the rim of the wheels feels kind of understated. The exteriors are decent not something really to mention about. Overall, it can be said that it is a decent looking truck with nothing special to offer in terms of looks.

The car offers various safety features but isn’t enough to make you feel surprised. It has some standard features that will be passed on to all the variants like Adaptive Cruise Control and Automated Emergency Braking. The Total Safety Sense aka TSS-P also comes as standard in all the variants.
The truck adds other safety features in its nip like Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure warning, automatic high beams but it does not have lane keeping. The truck features safety airbags on all the side and tethers & anchors for child’s seat safety. Below are the optional features that can be added to the truck.
Optional Features:
GMC Sierra 1500 Double cab 4dr
The look of the truck is absolutely great, it’s like love at first if you like trucks this will be your redemption. The truck offers real great power with decent mileage to boast of. Also, the cabin inside the car is way quieter in comparison to the Tundra.
The ride quality of the truck is also great and the multiple trims offered by the car has various features for the buyer to opt from. Although, the gear system has not been configured to make it good for towing. Also, in comparison to some of its competition, the truck’s rear cabin is not spacious.
RAM 1500 Quad cab Express 4dr
It totally depends upon your taste if you like the look of it otherwise the Tundra can be given some extra brownie points in this case. The suspension of the car is pretty smooth and provides plenty of comforts. The inside cabin of the truck looks pretty unique and attractive.
The transmission of the truck is also very smooth in comparison to some of its rivals. Although, the tow ratings of the car fall short and it is not as smooth in the department as it should be. The truck also misses on some of the latest drivers assist technology that the truck should have.
Ford F-150 Regular cab 2dr 6.5ft
Talking about the look of it then we don't find it attractive at all, Hands down the Tundra looks way better in comparison. Although, if you are looking for it specifically for towing purposes then it is an ideal candidate. Also, the comfort that you get with this truck can be compared to a luxury.
The engine also provides you with a balance of everything be it mileage or power. Also, the off-road capability of the truck is endless. The worst part of the deal is that the ride is gonna be tough if you don't have any load in the cargo space. The mileage of the truck also doesn’t show that much significance as mentioned in the sheets. Also, the aluminum body on the truck asks for the higher repair cost.
If you are looking for a truck with a lot of power then this is surely the truck to be. The truck gives you roaring power under the hood to rev. The truck is also decent looking in terms of the exteriors with a just fine to work with the infotainment system. Although, one thing to note is the great material used in the interiors.
In case if you plan to take the truck off-road then it won’t disappoint you. Although, the truck has some major cons. The towing capacity of the truck is not adequate enough in comparison to its competition. Also, the fuel economy on the truck truly lags behind. In case if you are looking for a truck with power and some great riding experience where towing is not the most important aspect then go ahead.
