The 2021 Volvo V90 wagon will be offered with two engine choices: T5 & T6 and will also have two drivetrains FWD and AWD. The updates for 2021 Volvo V90 are minor, but considerable, which makes Volvo V90 a great alternative to both the typical family sedan or a run of the mill crossover.

The Station wagon is completely dead in the USA; its place is largely taken over by Crossovers and SUVs. Approximately 216,000 wagons were sold last year in America, and ruggedized Wagons accounted for more than 196,500, which is nearly 91 percent of total Wagons sold. The Volvo V90 is one of the Wagons that is giving tough competition to its rivals. The Volvo V90 has been in production since 2016 and it is still fairly unchanged since the 2017 introduction.

However, a minor refresh for the 2021 V90 is expected to add some new features and options. It is expected to get a new 48- volt mild hybrid system for the 2021 Volvo V90 model, which will improve the fuel economy and should result in fuel savings of up to 15 percent. Overall, the V90 is an attractive and practical car, which provides the luxury of a sedan and practicality of an SUV all wrapped up into one. The 2021 Volvo V90 model is expected to be available at dealerships by the end of this year. The 2021 Volvo features a classic wagon profile with new LED rear lightings, wheel design, and some new color options. Let’s find out what to expect from the 2021 Volvo V90.

What to expect in the engine department?

The 2021 Volvo V90 will be offered in two different versions of the four-cylinder engine much like its outgoing model i.e. T5 & T6. The T5 is a 2.0L turbocharged inline 4 cylinder engine that pumps out 250 hp, and powers the front wheels of Volvo V90.

On the other hand, T6 is a fine-tuned version of the same 2.0L 4 cylinder engine but with both a turbocharger and supercharger, that boosts up the power to 316 hp. The 2021 Volvo V90 will come in both FWD and AWD configurations. The engine feels unresponsive when you depress the gas pedal and there is a slight hint of turbo lag in the T5 model. However, T6 feels more responsive owing to the addition of a supercharger.

How many miles to the gallon will the Volvo V90 wagon deliver?

The 2021 Volvo V90 is expected to offer the same fuel efficiency as its outgoing model as there are no significant changes in its engine. The 2021 Volvo V90 offers 23 MPG in the city and 35 mpg on the highway that sums up to a combined MPG figure of 27, which seems to be very fuel-efficient in its segment, owing to a small block 2.0L Inline 4 cylinder.
