he RAM ProMaster is an excellent cargo hauler with a robust engine under its hood and segment-leading cargo-hauling capabilities, along with best in class power figures. Let’s see how the 2021 model fairs against its competitors in other areas.

As nowadays, commercial fleets, construction works, and businesses are running high, the cargo vans demand is on the peak. And if the company offers excellent design and heavy load carrying capacity, then the buyers will attract automatically. The RAM enters into the work segment van through this 2021 ProMaster model. The ProMaster is designed in such a way that it can be a cargo van and is also available as a passenger van with the size configuration.

With great configuration options, this vehicle can stretch its wheelbase to 118, 136, and 159 inches and also offers low and high roof variants. When it comes to towing and carrying capacity, the ProMaster does steps ahead of its rivals. This commercial vehicle is meant to target the industrial categories and provide a precise vehicle for carrying tons. The Promaster lineup offers a varied range of payload capacities, such as 1500, 2500, and 3500, just like their pick-up trucks.

Expected Price and Release Date of the 2021 RAM ProMaster?

The 2021 RAM ProMaster Cargo Van is expected to carry a price between $33,000 to $39,700. The 1500 variant of the Cargo Van will cost around $33,000, 2500 will be about $36,000, and 3500 will be approximately $39,700. All this price is not confirmed; this is an estimated one. The most preferred economically is the base model. The 2021 RAM ProMaster is expected to hit the road by the end of summer 2020.

What to expect in the engine department of the 2021 RAM ProMaster?

The 2021 RAM ProMaster is equipped with the same 3.6 Liter V6 engine as its previous 2020 model. This engine is enough to compete with the rivals because it generates 280 hp of power, which is higher than the competitors. The towing capacity of ProMaster is also more than the opponents, which are up to 6900 lbs.

This type of commercial vehicle is not made for the acceleration test, but still, this performs powerfully in that segment also. The 0-60 mph sprint is completed near to 8.1 seconds and the quarter-mile in 16.5 seconds. Though this performance is less than rivals like Ford Transit, still these figures are impressive when it is attained by such a heavy load carrying commercial vehicle.

The 6-speed automatic transmission generates the power and supplies it to the front wheel. This automatic transmission helps the vehicle to transport easily with the load. The top speed of this commercial vehicle is around 100 mph.

The RAM ProMaster is carrying the most of the horsepower, which helps the vehicle to pull the load easily. The power offered by RAM is more than the rivals, but the 0-60 mph sprint completed by Ford is just 6.8 seconds. Though, the quarter-mile flag is finished around the same timing. Around the price tag of $33,000, the ProMaster offers excellent engine options and overall robust performance.

How will the 2021 RAM ProMaster handle?

In terms of universal handling, the RAM ProMaster is substantially much less subtle than a lot of its opponents. The steering is unfastened and numb, and other competing trucks provide smoother ride performance. This Van is not made for sharp corners or driving through it, nor is it comfortable. The suspension is filled with vibrations, and they deserve better damping. Every curve or bump is felt in the cabin.

The RAM ProMaster is not that easy to manage at tight spaces and handle in the cramped parking area. The body feels bulkier in front of the tires, which generates body roll. If you take a sharp turn with high speed, the van will inevitably lose its balance and chances of rollover occurs. In terms of agility, this can equate the same as controlling the boat. The rivals like Ford Transit offer excellent agility and handling than the RAM ProMaster.

How many miles to the gallon will the 2021 RAM ProMaster deliver?

The full-size vehicles are free from fuel economy standards. The EPA hasn’t tested the 2021 Promaster. But the 2020 ProMaster offered 14 mpg in city and 19 mpg on the highway.

So, the 2021 ProMaster’s figure may match this number as it is not going with any mechanical change. With the fuel tank capacity of 24 gallons, this vehicle may travel decent miles but not more than its rivals.

In terms of fuel economy, the Ford Transit leads the chart, and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter follows the lead. The RAM ProMaster carries a functional tank capacity, but it lags in mileage offered. Even the Chevrolet Express jumps ahead because of its massive tank capacity. Though these numbers are not accurate, the 2021 ProMaster may come with impressive numbers.

What to expect from the 2021 RAM ProMaster’s interior?

The commercial use oriented ProMaster is equipped with reasonably attractive components in the cabin. As this vehicle is designed for cargo transport, so the interior is holding more of the plastic elements, and there is no sign of prime stuff. It is oriented to work, so it only carries two seats and the driving position of the driver is kept high to offer excellent visibility through the large front windshield.

The ProMaster lacks in terms of comfort and luxury than its rivals like Ford and Mercedes-Benz have on offer. But the overall cabin design is relatively decent. The ProMaster is not able to manage the noise well; the cabin inside can feel the traffic noise. The RAM does offer leather-wrapped steering as an option, but it does not seem to be worth adding some luxury to this cargo vehicle.

The space offered in RAM and Mercedes-Benz are quite similar, but the shoulder room in RAM is much more than the rivals.

The cargo capacity of Sprinter is massive compared to others. Carrying the 319 ample cargo space makes the ride quite easier. Though this space can not hold all the luggage, it can handle a few. The RAM also carries a decent amount of cargo space.

Does it come loaded with tech inside?

The 2021 RAM ProMaster is equipped with some of the features and with some cargo lighting for cellular workplace choice. The main highlight of the 2021 ProMaster is the 9.2-inch LCD for the rearview, which keeps the driver up-to-date with the real-time videos of the rear. This is a first in class feature and not offered by any other company in this segment. This keeps the driver safe in the cabin and holds the live status of what’s going behind the wheels.

In the center, there is a 5-inch infotainment system, though it is small to interact with; it is enough for a cargo vehicle. The system comes with Bluetooth and USB ports which keeps you connected with the system and listen to the favorite tunes through a 4-speaker audio system. It does not have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to connect the phone.

The ProMaster does carry some optional features like SiriusXM satellite radio and navigation. The standard feature with all the models is the Uconnect infotainment system. The integrated steering buttons will be offered to ease the functionality of the system.

Will there be any changes to the 2021 RAM ProMaster's Exterior?

The 2021 RAM ProMaster may remain the same as the previous model without any exterior change. The front end will carry the same design with the same headlamps and the prominent grille with RAM housing at the center of it. The extended front nose design is standard in this segment, and the same is carried by the competitors as well.

The standard 16-inch steel rims are offered with all models. To enhance the look and add some distinction to it, the alloy wheels are also provided by RAM. The front and back both hold the same matte black bumper. The fog lamps are attached to the front bumpers to give a clear vision to the driver at night.

The boxy shaped van is best suitable to customize the internal space as per the needs. No changes are going to take place for the 2021 ProMaster in terms of exterior, and mostly it is going to be the same.

In terms of overall dimensions, the Ford Transit takes the lead. The wheelbase of Ford is maximum, and the height offered is also more in the chart. The RAM has less curb weight than the rivals. The ground clearance of RAM is 6.9 inches, but overall, Ford takes the lead in dimension race.

Will the 2021 RAM ProMaster be worth your money and time?

The RAM ProMaster carries excellent engine specifications in the segment, and also the power offered by RAM is more than rivals. But in terms of interior, the competitors do step ahead and provide some beautiful quality interior than RAM.

If you are looking for better engine specs and power in budget price, then RAM ProMaster will be your vehicle. And it also offers the first in class rearview display, which is helpful to keep a check at rear traffic.
