What’s new on the outside?
Each panel of the unique and sturdy exterior is redesigned while keeping its bold look, giving 2021 F150 a powerful stance. The new updates include a headlamp redesign, a new power dome hood, and wrap-around bumpers. Higher front fenders and tires pulled out three-quarters of an inch.
The front and rear fender also sit a little bit higher than the forerunner. Aerodynamic grille shutters and electronically deployed air dam with an improved tailgate and cab design helps to reduce drag and improve fuel efficiency.
The optional Pro Power onboard generator will have a 2.0-kW output available for trucks with conventional gas-powered engines and 2.4 kW standard in the hybrid variant, which can be increased to 7.4 kW. There are innovative cleats mounted to the sides of the tailgate to act as tie-down locations for extra-long items in the bed, and optional flat Tailgate Worksurface comes with an integrated ruler and mobile device holders, etc.
What’s new on the inside?
Apart from focussing on towing and payload capacity, Ford is keen on making the F-150 to match with any European luxury vehicle on the inside. An 8.0-inch infotainment screen is standard with the new SYNC4 infotainment system. You get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration as standard in every trim. Y'all can also opt for a bigger screen 12.0-inch display, which beautifully complements the digital dashboard.
Like the OTA(over-the-air updates) to provide totally new feature in Tesla, Ford equips the 2021 F150 with a similar ability. It helps to include all-new functions and added features throughout the life of the truck. The optional stowaway shifter has indeed entered production, providing for the center console to fold out and build a completely flat work surface to put your laptop or have a meal between your shifts.
Max Recline Seats are optional in King Ranch, Limited, and Platinum, which folds flat to nearly 180 degrees as many of us will like to nap in between the hustle-bustle of day to day activities. Why not?
Engine- Hybrid powertrain available
The Powerboost 3.5-liter hybrid V6 powertrain mated to 1.5 kW battery is targeted to produce the maximum torque and horsepower of any light-duty full-size pickup. The base F-150 is the only light-duty full-size pickup to offer a full hybrid. It suggests an estimated range of roughly 700 miles on a single tank of gas and will deliver at least 12,000 pounds of maximum towing capacity. The 10-speed automatic transmission is calibrated, especially for truck use, including drive modes like tow/haul to help buyers manage to tow huge trailers.
The other engine options include a fuel-efficient turbodiesel, two turbocharged V6s, and a tried-and-tested V8, all of them come mated to the same ten-speed automatic transmission.
The electric motor applies regenerative braking energy to help recharge the 1.5- kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery. It is efficiently packed between the frame rails of the cargo bed that makes the cab spacious for passengers.
All-new F-150 offers the latest driver-assist features as part of Ford Co-Pilot360. More features are now standard on XL, including Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and Pedestrian Detection. The 2021F-150 also adds ten new driver-assist features and is the only pickup to offer Active Drive Assist, which allows for hands-free driving on more than 100,000 miles. Other new available features include Intersection Assist, Active Park Assist 2.0
