2020 Porsche Taycan 4S hits US shores which is $50,000 lesser than Taycan Turbo S

The Turbo 4S starts at about $103,800 with the standard battery pack and goes up to $109,370 for the optional 93 kWh battery pack. Well, the Taycan 4S has an estimated EPA-estimated range of 203 Miles as compared to 201 and 192 for the Turbo about ($153,000) Turbo S ($187,000 ) model, respectively.

For all, you Porsche fans out there, the long-awaited 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S model has finally reached the dealerships, ready to take everyone by storm. The 4S is the base trim level of the Taycan line-up. With a 563 HP electric motor and 472 lb-ft of torque, the 4S is one of the best performance EVs on the market.

However, there is still the elephant in the room that we need to face. The 4S should have to have a more extended range with a bit of compromise with power. Well, the Taycan 4S has an estimated EPA-estimated range of 203 Miles as compared to 201 and 192 for the Turbo and Turbo S model, respectively. That too is on the optional performance 93 kWh battery. The range for the standard 79 kWh battery pack is not in yet. 

Taycan 4S  will do 203 miles in any environment

The Taycan has a 2-speed transmission. One known as the double gear transmission, which is only for the rear motor. The front still engine still runs with the single gear arrangement. The good part about the Taycan is that it will do 203 miles in any environment. Be it in the snowfall or on a burst of hot Californian sunshine, it is as luxurious as any other car of this segment. Usually, the range of electric-powered vehicles can be affected by up to 30% with different climate conditions.

2020 Porsche Taycan 4S Interior is same as Turbo and Turbo 4S

The Porsche Taycan can withstand high temperatures changes around it. The battery packs usually require an optimum temperature to operate, and for that, the cars have to is equipped with separate temperature control units just for batteries. When temperatures like 90 degrees become too much for the lithium-ion, the Taycan feels really at home at such temperatures.

In the real world, therefore, Taycan is a very practical car for a family. Because let’s be honest, normal city roads are where the vehicle will be to be for 99% of its time. You have to face a lot of traffic, then long drives, and for that, the 4S does make a lot of sense. Moreover, if you plug it to the 800 V socket, you get 60 miles of range in approximately 22 mins, which is good! 

In case you remove the badges, then it is next to impossible to tell the difference between the three trim levels. The fundamental aesthetics for all three models remain the same. The Taycan has the lowest coefficient of drag amongst all the cars ever made.

And with the slightly smaller 19-Inch wheels, Taycan consumes the bump with utter ease. You can tell the difference in the ride between the three models. The Turbo and Turbo S are a bit more performance-oriented. However, the 4S feels that it is meant to cover great distances with premium luxury.
