Also debuting for the year 2020 is a mild hybrid powertrain. The already standard 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine now makes more power over the previous year model at 246 horsepower. The addition of that mild-hybrid system helps this already tweaked engine to churn 296 horsepower.
The interior fit and finish have also improved quite significantly. Simply put, the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, which starts at a base price of under $43,000, is now a lot more competitive, and ready to take on the likes of the Audi Q5 or the BMW X4. In fact, with the kind of off-road tech on-board, this Evoque might just drag them up a hill.

The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque offers six different variants. These variants include the trims S, SE, First Edition, R-Dynamic S, R-dynamic SE and lastly, the R-Dynamic HSE. All trims are loaded with features, to say the least.
A 2.0-liter inline-four engine, ZF 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are among the features standard across all ranges. What separates them from one another is the state of tune of the engine. The engine available on the S, SE and First Edition variants makes 246 hp and 269 lb.-ft. torque. The same engine on the R-Dynamic variants is paired to a mild hybrid system that helps the engine produce 296 hp and 295 lb.-ft. torque.
Separately, the S trim is at the base of the Evoque lineup. Still, it is very well equipped with all the important features. For starters, it gets 18-inch wheels, leather upholstery, and 40/20/40-split rear seats. The Land Rover’s Terrain Response 2 and All-Terrain Progress Control systems make this base trim not so basic.
The SE trim includes all the features of the base trim and then adds some more. Most noticeable is the Touch Pro Duo infotainment setup that comes with not one but two 10-inch touchscreens! The First Edition is the most feature-loaded of all variants. It combines all the features from the previous two trims and has upgraded interior trim along with a 10-speaker audio system from Meridian.
Lastly, the R-Dynamic variants are rather very dynamic. The R-Dynamic S, R-Dynamic SE and R-Dynamic HSE borrow features from the respective S, SE and First Edition variants. Only, they pair a mild hybrid setup to their powertrain which makes the Evoque all the more evoking.

We recommend:
All variants of the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque are so well packaged that it does seem like a tough decision to choose the one that’s most suitable for you. However, the R-Dynamic SE which costs just a shade over $51,000 is the most logical investment. With the R-Dynamic SE, you get all the necessary convenience, safety and infotainment features along with a mild-hybrid system that packs enough extra punch while still offering the same kind of practicality and utility as the non-hybrid variants.
The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has come a long way since its predecessor. There are two available engine options for this Evoque. The S, SE and First Edition trims get a 2.0-liter inline-four engine that makes 246 hp and 269 lb.-ft. torque. On the other hand, the R-Dynamic trims get the same engine coupled with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system which returns 296 hp and 295 lb.-ft. torque.
All the several options are equipped with a ZF 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is also standard.

The standard 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine with the ZF 9-speed automatic shifts without any hassles and manages to push this Evoque to 60 mph in 7.0 seconds. The same engine with the mild-hybrid assistance makes close to 300 hp. Accordingly, the latter is even faster with a 0-60 mph time of 6.3 seconds.

Official data about how quickly the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque manages to come to a halt remains undeclared. Though certain features, like the high-speed automatic emergency braking, come in handy in times of hard braking. The brakes, in general, are quite strong and provide decent feedback.

The on-road performance of the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover has improved quite a bit. The much-improved base engine makes more power than last year’s model and packs enough punch for quick manoeuvres on the highway. Thanks to well-timed shifts from the ZF 9-speed automatic.
The adaptive dampers on this Range Rover make the Evoque a competent handler. Even on curvy mountain roads the Evoque feels adequately balanced. There is some amount of body roll but is by no means off-putting. However, feedback from the hefty steering wheel is a bit damped, which is fine for most off-road and on-road drivability but takes away some of the confidence needed to enthusiastically go around turns.
This Range Rover’s full potential is revealed when taken over rocks, up and down a hill or through the water. The ZF automatic transmission’s programming is so spot-on that it selects an ideal gear instead of continuously upshifting and downshifting for varying off-roading scenarios. The 2020 Evoque’s Terrain Response 2 and traction-management system has five different modes that can be selected depending on the kind of road that lies ahead.
All that extra power over last year’s model has a certain downside. The previous year model returned a mileage of 22 mpg, 29 mpg and 25 mpg on road, highway and combined, respectively. For the year 2020 Land Rover has decided to tip the scale more towards performance which has clearly affected practicality.
There is an engine stop/start system to help with fuel economy, but it can only do so much. Also, the new all-wheel drivetrain features a system where it disconnects the rear axle to improve fuel consumption.

For the year 2020, Land Rover redesigned the Evoque and gave it a longer wheelbase. Thus, this Evoque offers more legroom. Even the rear doors are now longer by an inch, making getting in and out easier.
Seats in the front row feature 10-way power adjustment levels. They are heavily bolstered and very well padded. As for the second-row seats, they are just as comfortable and now offer more legroom. Headroom in the second row might feel inadequate for taller people, but overall the 2020 Range Rover Evoque is a more than capable SUV.
The quality of material used on the inside of this Evoque has also improved significantly. The interior now feels more premium and less plasticky. The stitched leather dash and wool upholstery add to the much improved 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque.

The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque benefits greatly from its now longer wheelbase. So much so that even with its rear seats up, this Range Rover offers 21.5 cubic feet of boot space. Fold those rear seats down and space for cargo in the trunk more than doubles with 50.5 cubic feet.
Even in the mild-hybrid models the amount of cargo space remains the same as the batteries are located under the front seats.

It might be difficult to point out at a single glance, but the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has been completely redesigned. The overall styling has been carried over from last year’s model, but according to the manufacturer, this Evoque’s 99 percent parts are entirely new.
On the front, this Evoque features a copper-like trim and a honeycomb grille. From the sides, the 2020 evoque looks a bit thicker than before. The roofline tapers towards the end giving it that dart like shape.
Now, with its longer wheelbase and somewhat softened shape, this Evoque looks a lot more suburban. At almost 4000 pounds, it is also a significantly light SUV despite its appearance.

The newly designed Evoque does away with too many lines for a much cleaner look. The new styling features include:
The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque hasn’t yet been rated for safety, but the long list of safety features include:
The Audi Q5 features premium interior, modern powertrains and an exterior that is subtle yet stylish. It is well equipped to challenge Evoque’s mettle. However, the Evoque is just as well equipped as the Audi. In fact, it does one better with its class-leading off-roading prowess. Not many SUVs can stay as calm and composed as this Land Rover regardless of the road that lies ahead, and even where there is no road.
The BMW X4 is probably the one subcompact SUV that cannot prove to be the Evoque’s toughest rival. It has a smaller boot and offers more or less similar mileage. It even gets an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard. There are definitely several reasons why Evoque remains a better option than X4.
There’s an abundance of subcompact SUVs flooding the market. As a result, there are several options to choose from. However, there aren’t many subcompact SUVs out there that make quite a strong case as the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. With its complete redesign for the coming year, this Range Rover has done well to overcome its shortcomings. It now offers more space on the inside as well as more premium quality materials. Cargo space is simply above average. The slight fall in fuel economy is more than compensated by all that extra power it makes over the previous model. Then there’s always the off-road package which is simply best in class. In totality, the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque will be worth the cost.
