Jeep made the Compass debut back in 2007, and now the American carmaker has introduced the 2018 Jeep Compass with minor changes. However, the refreshed Compass was launched as the 2017 Jeep Compass. Jeep compass slots itself between the smaller Renegade and the large Cherokee. Jeep Compass is less powerful in comparison to the performance of SUV Cherokee. The trims that are available for sale include Sport, Latitude, Trailhawk, and Limited editions.
Jeep Compass has scored some pretty good safety scores. The standard safety equipment includes a rearview camera, blind-spot monitors, forward-collision warnings with automatic emergency braking. Amenities like USB ports, cloth seats, Bluetooth, and Touchscreen audio are available as standard. Moreover, the Compass Limited gets navigation, leather, and Beats audio system.

The intelligent Trailhawk edition is claimed to be top spec and fun-to-drive trim. The front fascia looks similar to the Cherokee, which gives it an urban outlook. The roof comes painted in a contrasting black color, making with distinguished. Jeep has offered numerous packages to maintain the comfort level with the Compass.
The sole engine comprises a 180-hp 4-cylinder engine mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic or a 9-speed automatic transmission. Out of all the Compass trims, Trailhawk is certainly a head-turner.
The Compass Trailhawk is offered with slimmer bumpers and a 20:1 simulated crawl ratio. It also offers more ground clearance. It’s a perfect blend of crossover and SUV.

The Jeep Compass SUV is best to have in the All-New Limited trim That is the best the eep Compass SUV can offer .
Every trim of the 2020 Jeep Compass is powered by a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder Inline-4 MultiAir Gasoline engine that delivers 180-hp at 6,400 rpm and 175 lb-ft of torque at 3,900 rpm. The 6-speed manual is standard on lower trims, while a 6-speed automatic is optional.
The 9-speed automatic transmission is only available with 4WD automatic-transmission models. The power output combined with a stiff chassis makes this Jeep perfect for off-roading purposes.
The engines are understandably and noticeably tuned with the fuel consumption rate as their priority and practicality, due to which it is not given the thrill to drive capability.

As seen on paper, the Jeep Compass comes out as the highest in terms of specs and starting price as well. But the refinements and tuning of the other cars in the same segment is better and an effective use of torque is unmistakably felt while examining the same.
On the acceleration front, Jeep’s 2.4-liter four-cylinder powertrain paired with a six-speed manual transmission turns out to be steady. It sprints 0-60 MPH in 10 seconds while the rivals manage to complete it at a faster pace.
The 180-hp engine literally takes some time to catch speed while the 9-speed automatic doesn’t make much difference while getting mated to this small power delivery engine.

The competition is faster than the compass and by quite a margin. Jeep's engineering main focuses on delivering a clear-cut balance between fun and practicality, with the mileage consumption to be in the proper outcome as well.
Jeep Compass is undoubtedly made for off-roading and most of the trims are offered with front-wheel drive. The handling is not so easy with the inconsistent steering and unstable body movement. The suspension setup keeps the ride smooth over curves and corners.
The Jeep Trailhawk offers amazing performance and off-road capability. The Trailhawk is gifted with an off-road suspension system, hill descent control, and all-season on/off-road tires, and a rock driving mode.
Doing corners in this vehicle has been taken a step further, thanks to the weight distribution. The suspension offers a comfortable cabin to be in as well.
The 12 and 11-inch brake pad setup does a great job of bringing the car to a dead stop in just the right amount of time. Furthermore, the default set of tires that comes with this car offers a certain mediocre grip with the braking and cornering of the same.
Aside from its snatchy reality, there is further negligible travel from the brake pedal. You brush your foot over it and the SUV nose-dives. This state could get scary at vivacious speeds and requires becoming used to.

The Jeep is the biggest of the lot exceeding the massive Toyota C-HR. This could transpose into a poor braking administration, however, let's pause for the exact numbers before we settle our toes on a conclusion.
Now, this is where the pragmatism lies and Jeep has put a lot of effort into this section, even by restraining the performance capabilities of their engines. With the manual transmission, the Compass returns 23 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel-drive configuration and the automatic transmission lowers the economy to 22/30 mpg.

Mazda’s CX3 and Honda HRV seem to travel only on fumes, customarily expressing. Neither are the numbers too staggering nor does it compete very well among others so the Jeep Compass loses some credibility in this section
The Compass's interior is comfortable, functional, and has enough space for four adult passengers. The materials are classier than before though still not "upscale" neither is the price, and the Compass is at least as well outfitted as much of its competition.
Seating and Comfort
The front seats of the car are pretty suitable for long drives and roomy to give you a relaxed feel in the ease and way of driving. Whereas the back seat is neither the largest nor the smallest of the cars in this diverse, small-crossover class, but high seat bottoms in the back seat mean that passengers' legs are fully supported and even long rides can be comfortable.

There isn’t much diversity in terms of front cabin space between the opposition. The rear space stays changing though. However, the Honda HRV has the best balance of the two, which is comparable to, or even better than the Compass.
Some of the key highlights of the Jeep's interior are:
The 2020 Compass comes equipped with Jeep’s latest Uconnect interface, which handy to use. The standard features that come attached to the fitment include a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and two USB ports. There is also a recommended 8.4-inch touch-screen display that offers superior graphics and a user-friendly home screen.
The additional features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a navigation system, and a nine-speaker Beats premium audio system.
Cargo volume
Managing and carving out space for their customers has been Jeep's forte for some time now and they have not shied away with the Compass as well. Procuring a substantial volume, the vehicle offers enough space to carry 3 heavy suitcases easily. And when the seats are folded down, it liberates more than twice of what was being offered initially.

Undoubtedly, the Jeep Compass leads this fragment by a huge margin, thus, making it a favorable car for family purpose or for the customers who are frequent with carrying an excess amount of luggage in their vehicles.
Compass comes with an aggressive front fascia which comprises of the seven-slot grille and gets a design treatment that matches the outline of the Jeep family. The look gets bolder with metallic trim. The side profile looks neat throughout. The rear comes with a thick roof pillar while the roofline is tapered
If you are looking for a more adventurous Compass model then the shiny black paint with the silver-toned body will be a great choice. The base trims are plain and need an optional package with alloy wheels and roof rack to look distinguished.

eep Compass is smaller than the Cherokee model. The Trailhawk and Limited models get black paint and 2-tone roof as standard. The new Compass will surely surprise its buyers with its hidden elements such as the Loch Ness monster on the rear hatch glass.
The Limited trims offer more delight with more chrome work on the exterior, while the Trailhawk trims increased ruggedness with bigger ground clearance, snazzy red tow hooks, a blackout anti-glare hood, and skid plates.
The set of offerings are as follows:
Aside from the sturdy build-quality, the Compass also highlights an excess of advanced safety features that further accentuate the better security of its inhabitants. Some of the standard safety features offered with the 2020 Jeep Compass are:
The 2020 Jeep Compass is appealing in all respects. From the exterior to the interior, everything looks simply magnificent. It offers lots of legroom and comfortable seating for all the passengers. The infotainment system is good for newbies who are trying it for the first time.
There’s a wide range of available packages, which you can choose as per your budget and convenience. The only downside is the slow engine and the below-average cargo space, otherwise, the compact SUV is a complete ride companion.
