We Recommend

Ford has spec’d the F-250 very well in all the trims but if we were to put our money on one variant, we would lean towards the Platinum Variant, as that offers most of the standout features of the Top Limited Trim and the good features from the lower trims.

2020 Ford F-250 SuperDuty Crew Cab Engine and Performance

8.0/10

The gasoline motor generates 385HP@5700RPM and 430lbs-ft Torque@3800RPM (Ford claims the Torque figures are class-leading). The best part of this engine is that it can run on alternate fuels like CNG and propane autogas when fitted with the CNG/Propane gaseous engine prep package. This also qualifies the customer for incentives related to alternative fuel use.

The motor on its whole is extremely refined with very little or no engine noise filtering into the cabin. The engine is very responsive and delivers great fuel efficiency and range with the 48 Gallon fuel tank.

Acceleration

F-250 is “Peppy” and its performance can shame most of the rivals and even sedans of similar prices. The gas-powered 6.2L motor helps the pickup reach the 60mph mark from a standstill at just 6.7 seconds, which in our mind is just unimaginable for a pickup of this size.

Ride & Handling

The Ford doesn’t handle like a typical Truck in the sense that it is mostly hassle-Free to drive when compared to the other Trucks in the segment once you get the hang of driving the F-250. There are a lot of features available in the Ford that includes Trailer Sway Control, Roll Stability Control with 2 Gyroscopic Sensors that mitigates Skidding and Fish Tailing and Adaptive Steering that gives the Ford a planted and supple handling.

The Ford is built on the body on frame chassis but despite this and the extensive usage of aluminum in the body shell of the truck, the ride is great and one of the best in the class that makes taking the “Roadless taken” a comfortable one. There is the Body Roll associated with Body on frame chassis vehicles but ford engineers have ensured, it’s the minimum with this vehicle without compromising on the handling dynamics.

Braking

Braking in the Ford F-250 Superduty Crew Cab is handled by disc brakes on all 4 wheels and Ford has coupled the F-250 with braking assistance features like AdvanceTrac Roll Stability Control and Adaptive Cruise Control that aids in Braking Performance of the truck at various speeds.

The Byte from the Brakes themselves is confidence-inspiring and they do a good job of bringing this “beefy” truck to a halt from speeds.

This truck might be outfitted with bigger brakes but it does not mean that they stop this truck in an efficient way. It takes 140mtrs to bring itself to halt from 60mph which is most distant in this segment.

Maximum Towing Capacity

The maximum Towing Capacity of the Gasoline Motor in the Ford F-250 SuperDuty Crew Cab is a bit less than its Diesel powered sibling but not by a big margin. Also, when it comes to competition, Ford does well in terms of towing Capacity and has respectable figures in the segment.

2020 Ford F-250 SuperDuty Crew Cab Fuel Economy

6.0/10

On a positive note however, our findings from some reviews of a consumers indicate the Combined MPG figure of the 6.2L Gasoline motor to be somewhere around the 30MPG mark. The Diesel on the other hand supposedly delivers an Impressive 50MPG figure due to the Efficient Turbocharged Diesel Motor.

2020 Ford F-250 SuperDuty Crew Cab Interior

9.0/10

The Owner of a 2020 Ford F-150 Super Duty Crew Cab enjoys a lot of luxuries over its Regular Cab and Super Cab siblings. In the Crew Cab, you can easily seat at least 2 people in the back seat while seating 3 abreast wouldn’t be a problem.

2020 Ford F-250 SuperDuty Crew Cab Exterior

8.0/10

With the current generation of the F-250 Super Duty Trucks, Ford had taken the high strength steel and aluminum route building the F-250 SuperDuty Crew Cab. This has led to tremendous weight saving by Ford and they themselves claim that this Weight Saving has allowed them to “upgrade” other parts of the Truck like the Frame, Axles, Leaf Springs, Transfer Case, Driveline and Trailer Hitches.

The Cabin is very roomy and can easily accommodate 4 passengers. The headroom is best in class which makes it comfortable for Tall Passengers while the long wheelbase allows for great Cargo Loading area.

2020 Ford F-250 SuperDuty Crew Cab Competition

8.0/10

Ford F-250 SuperDuty Crew Cab vs. RAM 2500 Tradesman Crew Cab

If the size isn’t a big parameter for you while buying a Truck and you can do away with a Truck that will be needed for loading light loads or carrying small stuff and not big on the feature list, the RAM 2500 will be your best bet.

However, if you are interested in Carrying bigger loads and have friends or family members who are more than 6ft Tall, Ford will be the better buy for you.

Ford F-250 SuperDuty Crew Cab vs. Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Crew Cab

The Silverado has been one of the biggest rivals to the F-250 for a long time now. It offers better standard equipment in the base variants than the Ford offers. The Chevrolet also has its nose ahead in terms of Front Passenger Space and practicality in terms of Storage Spaces.

The Ford, however, has the Stronger Engine of the 2, better loading bay at the back and better Rear passenger space and comfort. So, if you intend to use your truck for Heavy Duty Loading purposes, the Ford will be the one that will have the edge.

Ford F-250 Superduty Crew Cab vs. GMC Sierra 2500HD Crew Cab

The GM Sierra and the Chevrolet Silverado have the same Engines, there are subtle differences in Chevy and GMC in terms of Loading Space and Interior Space. The GMC offers more overall Interior Space than the Ford and offers better standard equipment than the Ford in the base trim.

But where the GMC shines in Interior Space, the Ford excels in Luggage Loading Area and the Payload Capacity.

2020 Ford F-250 SuperDuty Crew Cab Final Verdict

8.2/10

With the 2020 F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab, Ford has certainly paved the way for its next generation of Trucks. The Generous use of High Strength Steel in the Body and Military Grade Aluminum for Cargo Box has given the F-250 Super Duty 24 times more stiffness than the previous generation. This coupled with the excellent driving dynamics and load towing and carrying capacity makes the Ford one of the Segment Benchmarks.

So, if you are in the market looking for a Heavy Duty Crew Cab Truck that is Stylish, Comfortable, Functional and “Built Tough”, the  F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab should be on top of your shopping list.
