The F-250 Super Duty joined the F-series Super Duty family. in 2017 This truck is a significant improvement over the normal F-250 which includes: beefier underpinnings, more powerful engines, roomier interiors that can be equipped with a host of convenience and technology features. The SuperDuty lineup’s entry-level truck is the F-250 which does justice to the “Built Tough” tag.

Ford with 70 years of truck-making experience, produced a truck which can function both as a work truck and a family car. With best-in-class wheelbase and payload capacity, it is one that truck that means real business.

Ford's engineers were aware of the cut-throat competition so they have equipped the F-250 Super Duty with loads of modern technology, be it safety or infotainment or towing safety. This truck has it all. With a starting price of just $36330, this truck means business.

Ford’s rivals in this category are GMC and Chevy which are too quite experienced in the truck-making industry. GMC’ Sierra and Chevy Silverado are almost similar and Ford Provides the pickup buyers with a different taste in pickups palette.

If you are buying this truck only for commercial work purposes, then we recommend going for XL or XLT trim depending on your pocket size. Given that, all the features of the top trims are available as an option on all the trims you can equip this truck the way you want and save some precious bucks.

However, if you want this truck as a daily driver then we recommend going for the Lariat trim, it gets you the feature-rich touchscreen, along with some important comfort features. On top of that, it comes with a competitive price.

Ride & Handling

The Ford gets a softer suspension setup and thus provides a cushioned ride. Due to this, the riding quality is improved certainly. The Ford also gets an adaptive steering system which is optional on XLT and above. This adaptive steering helps the truck handle satisfactorily in the tight corners. A little bit of torsional flex is experienced while cornering which makes this truck a bit unstable.

2020 ford F-250 Superduty regular cab

The Ford F-250 Super Duty gets the quietest cabin in its competition. Thanks to the quiet cabin and the great quality of materials used the ride feels plush. However, if unladed the rear-end of the truck gives a little vertical movement which may feel a little unnerving. The rear-locking differential grants this truck with superior off-road abilities.

Braking

The braking distance of the F-250 Super Duty is best in class with 70 to 0 mph time of just 202 feet. The brakes on the F-250 inspires confidence, even if you do something silly you are backed by antilock brakes, stability and traction control, trailer sway control and hill start assist.

The seats, especially the front ones are super accommodating. However, without a side stepper getting in and out of the pickup becomes really difficult. Also, the space at the back in the extended cab becomes a bit of a squeeze, if you have a family it is highly recommended to get the crew-cab.

Other Seating options include:

  • Rearview camera
  • The driver information display, and a four-speaker audio system
  • Cruise control(XLT)
  • Sync voice-controlled infotainment system, 4.2-inch display(XLT)

Infotainment

The Ford F-250 remains the same infotainment system as that of the of its previous model. It does get an SYNC3 infotainment system which is user-friendly and has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The touchscreens come feature-loaded and touch responses of the same are razor sharp.

However, the Uconnect infotainment system on the RAM 2500 is the benchmark in terms of user-friendliness and ease-of-use. The B&O stereo system is now replaced with SONY's stereo which will keep your cravings for a crispier sound satisfied.

The Ford F-250 is a good looking pickup in its competition. For starters, it is huge, like really huge. On top of that, the butch look is carried all around with as little as possible use of chrome. The design is no-nonsense yet feels modern and fresh. Everything on the F-250 Super Duty is overly large, the ORVM, the headlights are as big as some mini-refrigerators. Thanks to the dimensions it stands out in the crowd and makes you feel special.

Ford SuperDuty F-250 Vs RAM 2500

The RAM 2500 HD stands out from the pickup-truck crowd for all the right reasons. It not only looks apart but also feels great on the inside. At a starting price of $36.145, it is priced similar to the Ford F-259 Super Duty.

The only thing that lets the RAM 2500 HD down is its engine, the engine feels quite underpowered and the towing/payload capacity speaks for the same. Hence, if you care about both looks and power then F-250 must be your choice.

Ford SuperDuty F-250 Vs GMC Sierra 2500

GMC Sierra with its large grill and generous use of chrome looks imposing, even on the inside, the truck feels upmarket and modern. The 6.0L V-8 is more than capable for everyday towing duties and never feels out of breath.

The GMC Sierra 2500HD is pretty closely matched with the Ford F-250 Super Duty. In fact, it is the only truck in this comparison that can match the towing capacity of the F-250. Therefore, it remains a matter of Heart to choose a badge between the Ford and the GMC.

Ford SuperDuty F-250 vs Chevy Silverado 2500

The Chevy gets a 6L engine which isn't as powerful as compared to the Ford but is fast compared to the ford. It isn't as large as compared to the Ford but does get a decent passenger space and comfort. The Chevy costs $3000 more than the Ford. So, here too the Ford has the right cards for you to be your next truck.

2020 Ford F-250 SuperDuty Final Verdict

The F-series from Ford is the Usain Bolt of the pickup trucks. Their new offering the F-250 Super Duty is no different either. Both the engines are capable, the interiors are feature-loaded, towing power is monstrous, most importantly the truck is loaded with safety tech for both passenger and towing safety.

The only downside of the F-250 SD is that it becomes quite costly in the top trims. Yet, nobody is even close to challenging the throne of the F-250. Hence, if you don't want F-250, wait till the others catch-up.
