2020 Aston Martin DB11 Coupe Infotainment,Seating and Interior Features
Updated on: July 21, 2020
The Aston Martin DB11 was introduced in 2016 as a replacement to the DB9. The DB11 is one of the finest Grand Tourer in the market, bearing Aston Martin’s signature classy looks and exceptional performance. What powers the car is either a 5.2L Twin-Turbo V-12 producing 630bhp or a 4.0L V-8 producing 503bhp. The 2020 Aston Martin DB11 is available as a Coupe, a Convertible, and in a high-performance AMR avatar. The car is built impeccable attention to detail, and the craftsmanship is surely praiseworthy. Complementing the handsome exterior is the interior, which looks equally gorgeous and royal, thanks to the interior designing by Matt Hill. The 2020 Aston Martin DB11 Coupe comes at a base MSRP of $201,820 and competes with Bentley Continental GT, Maserati Gran Turismo, Rolls Royce Phantom, Ferrari 488 GTB, and Mercedes-Benz S Class.
Seating and Comfort
The 2020 Aston Martin DB11 Coupe has seating arrangements for 4 persons in two rows. While the cabin as a whole is outright spacious and comfortable, the back-row seats are a bit let down. With a plethora of available interior trim colors and upholstery, the DB11 gives you enough options to curate your own interior in just the way you like. The 2020 Aston Martin DB11 Coupe gets leather upholstery in the cabin as standard. The front seats are heated and power-adjustable. The front seats also come with a memory system and warm charcoal seat belts. As far as comfort goes, the front seats are quite firm and supportive, and can comfortably seat you even during long rides. There are adequate head and legroom for both the driver and front passenger. But things are not so catchy in the rear. The seats at the back are small, and barely seats two kids or maybe better used as additional cargo space for keeping luggage.
The cabin of the DB11 is not very efficiently sound-insulated though, and you may get some disturbing wind and engine noise. The power-assisted steering wheel feels good to grip and comes with leather covers. The carpeted cabin floor, power-fold exterior headed mirrors, Alcantara headlining, and the Automatic temperature control having 2-zone climate control give the interior of the 2020 Aston Martin DB11 Coupe a luxurious blend that looks and feels extremely classy and premium.
Cargo and Luggage
Though the DB11 is a Grand Tourer in its complete sense, Aston Martin has not totally left out the scope of it being a practical car as well. The 270 liters boot space of the 2020 Aston Martin DB11 Coupe is moderately spacious and can hold a few bags quite easily. The boot, when compared to its rivals, offers better capacity than the Ferrari 488GTB or the Maserati Gran Turismo, but not as much as the Bentley.
Interior storage options in the new DB11 are limited though. There are not many pockets and holders for keeping your personal belongings except the storage box in the center console.
Infotainment and Interior Features
The interior features and technologies used in the 2020 Aston Martin DB11 Coupe give a mixed feeling. While on one hand, the cutting edge techs and infotainment bring in an ultra-modern and advanced setup, the cabin still holds its traditional flair. The controls inside the cabin are placed very conveniently, to ensure a shared experience and not merely a driver-focused layout. The display screens show several useful information and details about the vehicle condition, the journey as well as entertainment options.
The infotainment system used in the DB11 is manufactured by Mercedes-Benz and is quite updated. The system is pretty easy to use and the controls are well arranged. The 8.0 inch LCD screen provides a bright and high-resolution display and is controlled either by the rotary knob or the touchpad on the center console. The DB11 uses the Aston Martin Audio system, which is extremely good. The in-car entertainment features can be listed as below:
- Infotainment system with capacitive switching;
- 8-inch LCD screen;
- iPod and iPhone integration;
- USB playback;
- DAB Radio system;
- Satellite Radio;
- Bluetooth audio and phone streaming;
- 400 watts Aston Martin sound system;
- Wi-Fi Hub5.
Apart from the infotainment system, the other interior features highlight Aston Martin’s endeavor to infuse such a number of electronically advanced features in the DB11. The car gets cruise control with speed limiter feature, front and rear parking sensors with 360-degree cameras, tire pressure monitoring system, remote-controlled boot release, and central door locking, electronic instrument cluster, keyless entry and go, a laminated windshield, a trip computer, as well as several other safety and driver assistance features.
Such a long list of standard features is further increased by purchasing some optional packages. The optional features that can be added include,
- Duotone environment;
- Leather headlining;
- Powered stowage;
- DB11 logo or Aston Martin wings embossed or embroidered headrests;
- Heated and ventilated seats;
- Nexus quilting;
- Brogue detailing;
- 700 watt Aston Martin Premium Audio System with Dolby Pro Logic II;
- 1000 watt Bang and Olufsen BeoSound Audio System; etc.
It is hard to find a car having a good blend of extraordinary performance, jaw-dropping design, and astounding luxury, but the 2020 Aston Martin DB11 Coupe is just that. The car is timeless in its character and certainly contends for the top spot in the category. With all these finely crafted pieces in the cabin and the intelligently arranged tools coupled with the highest quality leather lining the interior all around, the DB11 is an engineering marvel. The thrilling sound of the revving engine and the luxurious ride quality would surely satisfy you to the core, whether or not you are an Aston Martin fan.
